The Photo of 2009 is a taniwha. Taniwhas are  Maori mythical creatures that lurk in swamps and rivers. They are considered guardians of their tribes. At every bend in the river there is a taniwha.                                                                                                                                                                                                         

ABBEY

My name is Abbey.  I am 9. I have two brothers. I live in Riwaka. I have a bike and a scooter.   My best friend is Selina.  She is 9 too. I like reading. I play netball.

JAKE

I am Jake and I am eleven years old. I have one sister and she is thirteen years old. Her name is Leilani. I have two parents and their names are Steven and Treena.

CULAINN

My name is Culainn and I am 10 years old. I go to Parklands School . I have a younger sister and she is six years old. I am in the Whanau unit. I play rugby for Mot United as a utility back. I made the under 10 Golden Bay reps.
