I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A BIG HAPPY THANKS TO RICK FOR FILMING, TO WHAEA TANIA FOR BEING SO HELPFUL, AND WHAEA SUE FOR ORGANIZING THE PROGRAMME.

The kapahaka fun was an awesome day. I met lots of people and watched lots of good performances and liked them all. I`d have to say that all the schools had ihi, wehi and the mana for kapahaka. I think all the schools that came had lots of fun and found out lots of new Maori words. Thank you to Whaea Tania and Whaea Sue for making this happen and for the camera crew. Kia ora and ka kite.

Hi my name is Thomas i like to play sports like Rugby tackle touch rugby golf and a lot more sports. I am a 11 years old. I am the youngest child in my family. I have two older sisters and one older brother. My biggest sister has two boys called Alun and Cody. My other big sister has one girl and has one boy coming. My big brother has a baby girl and has a boy coming. My biggest sister is 23 years old. My second sister is 18 years old. My one and only brother is 19 years old. My biggest sister's name is Niccola. My second sister's name is Katrina and my brother is called Taurean. My favourite food is kfc and butter chicken.

This haka is about some of the Maori gods and what they control. Tanemahuta is the god of the forestry, Tawhirimatea is the god of the wind, Tumatauenga is the god of war and man, Tangaroa is the god of the ocean. They are the the main gods in this haka. Near the end there are lower gods like Rongomatane, Haumietikitiki, Ruomoko and koropupu and there is one very high god Io Matua Kore [the creator]

The actions show the significance of the Maori gods in this haka.

RUGBY WORLD CUP

The Photo of 2009 is a taniwha. Taniwhas are  Maori mythical creatures that lurk in swamps and rivers. They are considered guardians of their tribes. At every bend in the river there is a taniwha.
